18 out of 21 days... How am i Doing?

18 out of my supposed 21 days.. how have i been with my goals?

*no rice diet :)

im gonna curse that Hainanese Chicken.. haha.. its my favorite Singapore food.. i can eat it almost every other day.. my staple food when i don't feel like i want other food.. aside from its cheap its really tasty.. so after our shopping date at Saizen, Mommy Cai asked to join her eat dinner.. i planned to just eat Corn Muffins, then when Mom arrived at our table, Hainanese chicken with the condiments nicely put together in the tray with that ginger-y chili smell.. Ais and I got really tempted.. :(

and then im gonna curse the weather too.. hehe.. i wasn't able to help myself from eating goto and champorado.. oohh they're such a treat during rainy days..

and then last night at North Park.. dinner with my college girls.. yes i did consumed a whole cup of rice.. baaaad..

though there are days i could really not eat rice naman.. i could still make pigil and choose non-rice meals.. cguro there are certain food lang.. and portion control..

i therefore conclude.. i can't get rice out of my system.. pero cguro i have to set a rice eating day lng.. or 2 cups a week max??

*stick with a budget of Php 200-250 for meals and transpo a day..

booo i wasn't able to do this too.. though we're doing tipid meals naman na.. its a progress that we're now ordering or planning our food budget carefully na.. but 200-250 is quite hard.. especially with transpo.. i really prefer FX coz of the counterflow during mornings.. and mainit talaga magjeep in the morning.. and i do my makeup sa FX :)

i will admit.. its the taxi when im late that ruins the budget.. 100 php from Medical City to Office to reach 9:15..

* asleep by 1230AM and reach the office by 845

most office nights im asleep by 1230PM.. except for Sat and Sunday nights.. im really making sulit my weekends.. i wasnt able to reach the office by 845 everyday.. there's something about Ortigas Ext traffic and transpo.. that even if i leave home earlier at a 1hr and 45 mins travel time allowance instead of 1 hr.. i still cant make it by 845.. I still arrive at the same time.. during the last 18 days, i still had one late hehe.. khit nagtaxi nko.. hay traffic tlga.. boooooooo... im just saying there are things na i dont have full control of.. i adjusted my alis from home naman na e..

* bawal umulit ng shoes.. :)

im proud coz this is something i was able to keep!! :) though madaya coz i bring slippers pauwi, its hard to commute kc in heels especially if ure sitting at the back of an Adventure/Crosswind na super baba ng seat..

i think im gonna keep on doing this.. keep rotating usage of my shoes..

hmmm is Saizen shopping considered impulse buy? ndi naman cguro.. haha jinustify.. coz i only bought things i needed there.. and ngthink hard tlga ako why i need them..

life

MOODS

Easy going and up-for-anything. I may not be the life of the party but I am kaladkarin, I could be easily asked to go out to so we could have a good time. If you need company, you're party would never be without a visitor i'm likely to be there.. Mahilig din magorganize at mag plan ng mga drawing na out of towns and get together and i don't stop until our drawings materialize.

Gala or let's just say in a better way - Street Smart. I love travelling. and im planning to explore and be wowed by PH. I love window shopping. I love malling. I love people and crowds. I know how to reach places even if i;ve been there once or twice. I could pass for a taxi driver in terms of roads and shortcuts even if I never had a car before.

Just like my favorite season - SUMMER! I am sunny and Optimistic. I feel like I'm sooo put together that my friends would probably be surprised if they find out that I have problems much like their own dramas.

Sweet and Loving. If I say I love or miss you, or I complemented you.. I MEAN IT! and once you gain my care and trust, i'll fight against the tide for you! that's how I am with friends, relatives and loved ones.

STYLE

Eclectic. I don't limit myself to just one particular look. It jumps from time to time depending on my mood - flirty, feminine, casual, boho, edgy. I'm playful with colors, fabrics and prints.. I love sundresses, florals, ruffles.. There's not a day without me accessorizing.. I'd feel better overdressed that underdressed :) and i want to be always camera-ready or meet-up-ready..
Bargain shopper. I can shop anywhere and everywhere! If i see a new trend, or see a look from another girl, or from a particular brand, I try to put together the same look but search for it in bazaars, dept.stores, thrift stores, and clothing lines that are not hardly advertised yet.

Goin' Designer on Shoes and Bags for Durability. As for shoes, I want style, comfort, durability and affordability. I am currently pleased with Charles and Keith. As for bags, my bags are always full and heavy so it should be durable, I trust Longchamp and Goyard the most! Most of them are with me for more than 4 years already.. isn't that durability?
Style Inspiration. Everywhere! People I see everyday, fashion magazines, online fashion blogs and communities. I used to be very manang when it comes to fashion. Singapore street-style inspires me to start and continue playing with fashion.
Closet Palette. A little bit of everything with a lot of blacks, browns, purples and whites.
Basic Get-up. Dress/long shirts, leggings, heels and CONFIDENCE.

why did I write this.. wala lang.. i still feel lost in terms of my personality haha.. and i want to get to know myself better.. from my own Point of View.. and other people's..

Defining Chemistry.. But it would be complicated..

So your personalities jive.. and then there's chemistry.. but wait how do you define Chemistry? and then i stopped... so I searched all over the net and got these excerpts as I've been trying not to entertain my thoughts and feelings.. and not again will I confuse deep friendship with potential love..

When you think about the qualities found in a true "soul mate" relationship, what one word comes up most often on the top of your list?Is it CHEMISTRY? Probably. Just the mention of this term conjures up powerful feelings and images for anyone who has ever been in or seeking a love relationship. It is often described as a feeling that leaves you breathless, excited and weak in the knees. Palms sweat, the heart races and the body tingles with nervous anticipation. Right? Maybe not. For this definition of chemistry is limited to one's physical response to another person. It lacks an entire dimension that resides in our values, beliefs, personalities and worldview.

How do you define chemistry? I think of it as a strong attraction that includes love, lust, infatuation, and a desire to be involved intimately with someone. Chemistry is emotional desire for relationship.

Kahlil Gibran defines it as "spiritual affinity". It's the hidden element of chemistry. It's when two beings meet and connect on a deeper level. It can only be felt in the heart and soul. It's about friendship, respect, humor and the feelings of warmth and contentment that come when you are in his/her presence.

Physical attraction generally begins during our first contact with someone. It can DEVELOP into something more over time, yet some pull is there from the beginning. The chemical that results from this attraction (and intensifies it) is phenyl ethylamine - or PEA. It is a naturally occurring substance in the brain. Essentially, it is a natural amphetamine. It stimulates us and increases both physical and emotional energy. The attraction causes us to produce more PEA, which results in those dizzying feelings associated with romantic love. Another substance that is released by PEA is dopamine. This chemical increases a desire to be physically close and intimately connected.

When these chemicals are being secreted in larger doses, they send signals from the brain to the other organs of the body. If you wonder why you or someone is attracted to the "wrong" person, it may be because you are high on the physical response to these substances, which overwhelm your ability to use your head and exercise "good judgment and common sense".

"Spiritual affinity" develops over time and repeated contact. When these feelings begin to emerge, the brain produces endorphins. These are more like morphine and result in an increased sense of calm that reduces anxiety and helps to build attachment. As relationships move into this phase they are characterized by more comfort, commitment and friendship.

despite your differences, you know your personalities jive.. it wasn't the same as the other guy friends you had.. there's chemistry.. oh wait maybe not chemistry but its more of spiritual affinity.. I think Kahlil Gibran defined it well.. but you feel mature enough to think this is not yet it.. and its not right as there are lots of factors that would make things very complicated.. so just enjoy the friendship, the smile that comes across when he jokes around, hangs around and talks to you, and the calmness and spiritual healing his presence brings in you..

May 24: the beginning of my 21-day challenge..

They say it takes 21 days to Form a Habit.. Habits are an essential part of our life, without them we would fail in most things we try to accomplish. They help us to reach specific goals, stay focused along the way and keep on pushing when the going gets touch. They say anything you do with repetition and emotion will become your reality.

I need to put this in writing para the people surrounding me would be aware and would support me hehe.. and remind me of my challenge every once in a while..

- back to no rice diet :) - proven to help me lose weight (4 months before my debut and 50 days before Boracay) it may not be as visible pero the weighing scale at the hospitals proved it.. nwei, im not planning to crash diet.. or to be skinny.. i doubt i'll ever be and i have no plans to be.. there's a weight im planning to achieve lang by the end of this year.. and i want small but surely steps.. e since Boracay and my brothers' arrival, i wasn't able to control my intake as much ulet kase.. naputol and im back to eating rice.. shems.. although i didn't gain weight ulit since Bora, 3 weeks pdn nkong ngccheat! shems..

- stick with a budget of Php 200-250 for meals and transpo a day.. diet and savings goal achieved every month pag nagawa ko ito.. NEW BEST FRIENDS: Ate Lesley, Mang D, Cup Noodles, Pao Tsin ang Mang Fishballs.. so help me office friends! i mean let's help each other..

- asleep by 1230AM (except tonight coz i helped my brother with his business plan) and reach the office by 845 (no more memo for coming in late!!!)

- bawal umulit ng shoes.. :)

realized this a few weeks ago when i bought a shoe stand / organizer.. there are a few pairs left (meaning nagtapon at namigay na ako) which i no longer use but i can't seem to throw or give away.. they're too cute to throw.. and they remind me of my SG days.. parang may emotional value.. hehe.. its just that recently i want comfort over style.. since im commuting, i prefer flats recently.. and some of those heels honestly would only last me 4 hours max.. not for a typical office day.. pero magtitiis ako for this challenge haha.. i know hindi ito habit.. more of a challenge to myself and my Vanity lang.. pra equally magamit lahat ng pairs..

- bawal mag impulse buy.. no new bag, no new shoes, no new clothes, no new accessories, no new makeup, no new little cute trinkets.. spend only on the essentials..

SO HELP ME GOD!! hehe..

The 21 day habit practice

First of all, you will need to be clear on your intentions. Do you really want to play the violin? or was this wish merely conceived when your best friend showed you their instrument.
Once you are absolute certain you want to follow through with this, here is what you do. First write down your intentions. It is important you use positive affirmations to write these goals.
It helps if you can identify your why. Why do you want to play the violin, lose weight, run a marathon, etc. The bigger your conviction, the easier it will be be for you to make the transition.
Create diversions to help you stay on track. If there is a specific weakness you battle that stops you from progressing and practicing every day, try to find ways to distract you from the negativity. It will help to keep you on track. Total honesty with yourself goes a long way here.
Celebrate each step, regardless how tiny it is. You need all the help you can get to keep motivated. It also helps to enlist the support of friends or family members. People who can motivate you to keep on going.
Stay clear of negative people. There will be those who try to sabotage you. This doesn’t even have to be intentional. It could evolve from a negative statement aimed at you, or even a deep rooted belief you had since you can remember. Any trigger that could bring this out should be avoided.

Use the following tools to help you on your 21 day mission

Positive affirmations are a great tool to keep you mentally stimulated. Practice them daily by saying “I am thankful for having lasted another day”. Before long, the 21 days are over and your new habit is cast in stone – or close to.

You can also use the power of gratitude quotes or pictures to keep you visually empowered. Stick them on your fridge, in your office, next to your bed, in the loo or wherever you will be reminded that it only takes 21 days to form a habit.

Happy Easter!! oh the promise of new life!!

Let me start off by sharing one of may favorite praise songs.. aside from Hillsong's Power of Your Love and Through It All

There's something about Lent that makes everything seems so mellow. Call me loner but I admit I like it. It’s a nice change from all the hustle and bustle of everyday working and city life. Its usually a chance for me to think, reflect on my current state, on the past, and about my future. Life may have its ups and downs. but right now it has been treating me quite well. I can say, overall, I am one happy child of God.

I’ve had my fair share of drama in the past 6 months and some serious adjustments, maturity and "growing up" was necessary. I agree and share the same thought with this anonymous writer who wrote: "I’ve always thought that whatever choice you make in the past, somehow if you’re really destined for something or someone, you’ll find yourself ending up with that dream, that career, that someone or that something. It may not be the same route, nor the same formula but in the end you still get the same result."

It was generally a productive Holy Week.. im glad to have just stayed at home as i hoped.. because i have serious plans to reorganize.. I started off with my almost 3 weeks worth of laundry, then i backed up my laptop and working on transferring all the files to the new one.. then I reorganized my eclectic iTunes library and added some new power-up pick-me-up songs.. and some serious personal audit how I've been doing since the start of the year in terms of personal, emotional, mental and physical goals..

Physical konting check but there's definitely some progress already.. emotional doing great!.. Mental and personal.. i have a lot pa on my checklist.. in terms of travel and things to learn / to try (Japanese, makeup, crochet, Barre - still not crossed out)

Although I like the peacefulness of Lent, I always end up fast forwarding to Easter though, I am an optimist and i always look forward to fresh and new stuff.. time to work fast and keep up with those i missed on that 2011 checklist!! Back with a new vibe!

Makeup Weekends: Makeup does Wonders..

88 palette coastal scents

so i was reorganizing some stuff.. and i saw my 88 palette eyeshadow from Coastal Scents which was left untouched for a year now.. and yes i decided to greet Easter with kaartehan haha and gathered my nieces for a makeup bonding.. i saw the delight on my nieces eyes as a somewhat laptop looking case turned out to be... eyeshadows! :) that's my reaction too when i first bought it..

then lightbulb moment! I'm gonna put this to good use, i can't let it just expire.. I really wanted to learn makeup beyond the usual day look.. i want to have something im really good at.. i want to be able to do makeup for myself or for friends in need someday on special occasions.. i want to do makeup for models on their photoshoots.. i want to experiment and find an outlet for my creative juices naks! i used to play with makeup back in SG during the first month i bought this palette.. i paused and i cant remember why..

Though i've practiced na before.. and i can confidently do makeup for myself, pamangkins and titas, i still have a lot to learn.. By the way the photos are a product of this afternoon's boredom and lighbulb moment and months with no practice.. hehe pangit ng pagkablend ng eyeshadow.. (i used blue, purple and silver) i loved my brows, lips, eyeliner and nose here though..

Though I have tools to use, up to know, I am still clueless about how to use my 12-piece brush set and i feel like i'm not making the most out of my makeup stash? im not the type who goes out with full makeup on, im the eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss kind of girl lng naman kasi.. but I want to learn makeup talaga on my own muna..

Since i can't afford a full-time course at a beauty school yet, i promise to spend the next weekends watching videos of YouTube makeup gurus..

3 years from now, im planning to take classes na and i will be a professional makeup artist.. naks! i'll I know classes are important tlaga.. besides new skills, experience, and credentials, makeup classes also provides connections in the industry.

I'm passionate about makeup coz I've seen myself and other people transform a coz of makeup.. Makeup is powerful and it does wonders.. a simple sweep of lipstick and eyeliner can instantly make u look polished.. a woman's beauty gets highlighted even more.. and it gives people new hope, new confidence whenever they see themselves dolled up..

I want to be that person who makes that difference to other people someday..
